These changes include a new requirement for practices to update the NHS website at least every 90 days so that patients can more easily see which practices are accepting new patients. It means the price of a check-up will go from £23.80 to £25.80 and a filling appointment will cost patients £70.70, up from £65.20, Birmingham Live reports. It says the increase is "proportionate" because there has been no rise for two years but the cost of delivering NHS dental care has increased in this time. The last increase was in December 2020, which was delayed from April 2020 due to the Covid pandemic.
The Government has confirmed charges will go up this year from April 24. The cost of treatment usually increases in April every year. NHS dental charges for patients in England are set to rise by 8.5% next month.
